  • New Troop Form (MY2026)

Are you interested in starting a brand new Girl Scout troop with Girl Scouts of Oregon and SW Washington? We hope so! Please take a few minutes to fill out and submit this form and one of our Onboarding Specialists will reach out to help you get a forming troop started! Note: all fields are required, and the form only needs to be submitted once.
  •
  • To help us create your forming troop, we need to know the name of a community hub that your troop can be based on. Please list a community location with which we can associate your troop. This could be a school, community center, place of worship, park, neighborhood, or the city itself.

Please note: this is not your troop's meeting location - this question is meant to identify a centralized geographic area with which your troop is associated. We'll collect your troop meeting location at a later date!

  • Troop Split Details: If you are forming a new troop as part of a Troop Split, please provide additional information.

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Racial Justice (DEIRJ)

For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has carried forward the legacy of openness, inclusion and unity that Juliette Gordon Low established in 1912. DEIRJ are core values of Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington, and we recognize that a commitment to these values is a living commitment that requires attention, reflection and continual action.

When girls lead, our families, communities and our organization are stronger. We are committed to offering a safe, inclusive, welcoming place for all girls and their families. We want all girls to know that Girl Scouts is an opportunity available for them, and feel welcome as members.

To give more girls the opportunity to become a Girl Scout and be part of a sisterhood in a troop if they'd like to, we have minimum troop size numbers for each grade level.

  • Thank you so much!  An Onboarding Support Specialist will be in touch with you within 3-5 days during slower seasons, and 7-10 days during busy seasons (renewal season, start of the new Membership Year).  As you await outreach from our Onboarding team, please email answers@girlscoutsosw.org if you have questions.   Also, feel free to review the steps toward troop formation and troop leadership here: https://www.girlscoutsosw.org/en/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/start-a-troop.html

  • Thank you for your interest in starting a new troop!  Unfortunately, the adults you've identified to not meet the criteria to lead a Girl Scout Troop based on the information you have shared.  Once you have identified at least two adults that meet the requirements and criteria for being a Girl Scout Troop Leader, please return to this form and submit it!  Once you submit, a member of our staff will reach out!
